Jabari Smith Sr. was also a professional basketball player having played basketball professionally from 2000 to 2010. He was selected in Round 2 and 45 overall in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.
Like Jabari, his dad also played in the power forward position and played for two other teams including the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Nets. In his 108 games in the NBA, he averaged 3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
But in 2006, he left the NBA and continued playing professional basketball in other nations until 2010.
