In March of 2018, Bones and his family went through a very tragic incident where he lost 3 of his family members.
Bones was sitting in his house watching the game between Kansas and Duke. That’s when he sensed the black smoke in his house.
Immediately, Nah’Shon jumped out of the window while his grandmother and two cousins remain trapped inside the house. They were taken to the hospital, however, could not survive.
The incident caused Bones to have a torn patellar tendon for which he had to take rest for 6 months. It could have been career-ending, but he survived and returned to play basketball again.

Nah’Shon is not the only child of his parents as he also has 2 siblings – both brothers. His brothers’ names are Tykee Hyland and Michael Hyland.
